I believe there are no coincidences in this world - and as of yet, I have failed to find any situations that were merely "coincidental". Now, part of that is because of my belief system, a part that works for me, and part of that is simply synchronicity. I leave myself open to all opportunities and I while out making myself available to the universe, I try not to waste the opportunities presented to me.
Yesterday was interesting in need, in the ways the universe shares it's abundance with me - or maybe the way I accept it? I'm not quite sure yet. Either way, I'm sure you remember a previous blog post a few days ago, where I was talking about my former neighbor, whom I had learned had moved away when no one noticed, broken up with the man who still was my neighbor, and she continued to come up to north Seattle from 45 minutes away, EVERY morning.
Now, there were several pieces of her story that I just did not understand, so if it was confusing for you to, at least we're in the same boat! So when she sent me a text, asking if I was going to be out for my now regular morning constitution and if she could join me, I was more than happy to accept. Not only did I want to know more of her story, but it's nice to have company when you're out on a walk.
Now, to my own amazement, my former neighbor appeared in front of my home, waiting and ready to go. Though just like the days prior, I found that she had transformed yet again - and it's not that I had any expectations for her appearance, though the newer, happier vibes radiating from her were just so surprising after our first chance meeting the other morning. This time she stood tall, had the most powerful smile and was ready to power walk with me around our neighborhood and talk about the birds and the bees.
Interestingly enough, I learned that the boy she came up to get ready for school, was also her son - which is what I had previously thought to be true, when she was still my neighbor. I'm not sure where our communication had gotten mixed up earlier in the week, though that definitely made more sense. It's still a bid odd, but I am no stranger to the things mother's are willing to do for their kids and their fathers - and definitely glad to put some pieces of the puzzle together in my own mind.
As we walked, I was allowed much more of a view into her world, still not quite sure what it was the universe was suggesting I do or not do in this case. I tend to have a way of always wanting to fix or improve things, and I've learned that there are times when that's not what we are being called to do. Still, even with that knowledge, I get mixed up from time to time and as we walked I continued to ask myself - what's my purpose here?
It wasn't until after we had walked 10 blocks that I realized my former-neighbor had then become a new found friend - and that synchronicity was offering me just as much as it was offering her. We both needed an extra friend in our lives, we both deserve it.
And through the power of a simple chance meeting one morning, both of us have gained another level in fulfilling our own needs for growth and contribution. Isn't transformation amazing? L=
